What are the Requirements

The key requirements are that you:

• Have a spare bedroom available for fostering. 
• Are prepared to consider a range of children who need foster care.
• Can appreciate and understand that fostering a child is different to looking after your own child.
• Understand that foster children often have some special needs relating to their past experiences and that it may take time before they respond to the care that you provide.
• Are able to work as part of a team with The Homefinding and Fostering Agency.
• Are able to work with parents and extended family members of foster children.
• Are willing to attend training to develop your understanding of children and their backgrounds.
• One person in the house will be a full time carer.
