David and Carole: One child or two if siblings sharing or up to 18 if parent and child placement.
David and Carole have been fostering for 6 years . They have cared for 7 children and two mother and baby placements The age range has been from 5 days old to a 22 year old mother of a young baby. Carole and David have also moved a young baby on to adoption and they remain in contact with him. Carole is a regular attendee of training and of the support group and has her N.V.Q in caring for children and young people.
Dawn: one or two children either gender 4 - 18
Dawn is a new carer to the agency and was approved in November 07. She currently works part –time and this may continue when she has her first placement although this will depend on the needs of the child placed. She has a wealth of life experiences and looks forward to being able to offer children a secure and stable home. Dawn has a robust support network in particular she has a sister who is a L.A C manager. Dawn has two grown up sons Steven and Ronnel both living away fro home Steven has two children and they visit Dawn on a regular basis and enjoy spending time with her. Dawn has a good understanding of the needs of the children in the care system as one of her former partners had dysfunctional childhood and she witnessed first hand the effects on his adult life. Dawn has mainly cared for her two boys on her own so she has a good insight into how demanding it is to care for children on her own but with the strong support networks the agency is confident that she will be able to manage the task of fostering
Odette and Richard: One child or two if siblings sharing 4 - 18
Odette and Richard are new carers to the agency and are eagerly looking forward to having their first placement. Odette previously worked full time at the Commission for Racial equality but unfortunately was made redundant after 24 years and although it is a huge transition to be at home all day she is really looking forwards to changing of life style. They have two birth daughters who still live at home Aitoinette and Roxanne aged 22 and 20.
Elaine: one child either gender 4 - 18
Elaine is a new carer to this agency, she has a birth daughter Christie aged 21 who lives locally to her mother. She will form part of Elaine support network although she will not be expected to be over involved. Elaine over the past year has been caring for foreign students so she has had experience lately of having children in the home. Elaine has one young person in placement Lauren aged 15years who is fairly challenging although Elaine appears to be managing well. Elaine was keen to start fostering and demonstrated during her assessment that she has thought long and hard about the role of a foster carer and wants in her words to be able to give something back. Elaine has had a variety of life experiences and she has shown throughout the assessment that she is a caring, intuitive and considerate person she will be a very good advocate for young adolescent’s especially young girls.
Claire and Bill: one child either gender 0 - 10
Claire and Bill have been fostering for the agency for seven years, they are extremely experienced cares and have cared for 14 children to date, they have cared for a variety of age groups children from 22monthe to 18 years. They have three birth children of their own Lewis aged 17 and Ellie and Megan 12 and 9 years They currently have two girls in placement. They are a very active family Bill is very involved in Sea Cadets, they go camping and attend out side pursuits and attempt to involve all the young people although the y have the ability to encourage children at their own pace Claire is a regular attendee at training and the support group
Pat: one child 0-11 years either gender especially a child at primary school
Pat has been fostering for the agency for five years, she is a single carer but is supported by her partner. She has two long term placements currently aged 12 and 14. . Pat is an experienced carer, she has looked after three mother and baby placements, two lots of sibling groups and had five placements before her current children.
Rob and Lesley: one or two children if siblings sharing, either gender 0-18 years, although they are better able to care for younger children.
Rob and Lesley have been fostering for 5 years. They have cared for 9 children and 7 children on a respite placement, included in that are 2 mother and baby placements which they managed very well.
Julie and Frank: one child of either gender 0 - 12Julie and Frank are new carers to the agency and are full of enthusiasm regarding fostering. They have a son aged 6 years they have also been through the adoption process, although they were matched to two children Julie became pregnant with Sean. They are registered to care for children 0-12 but careful matching will be required as Sean has had a great deal of attention not only from his parents but from the extended family. Julie has worked with children and is looking forward to offer another child physical care and emotional warmth , Sean is looking forwards to having another child in the home. Julie and Frank live in an area that is ideal in terms of leisure interests and good schools. The couple have been together for 20 years and between them they have overcome lots of difficulties but they have remained focussed and adopted very resilient personalities . They have support networks already in place and look forwards to the challenge of fostering. Although they are new carers they are in a ideal position to be able to care for children from Greenwich
Fetsum and Selam: one child either gender 0-18 years.
Fetsum and Selam have been fostering for five years, to date they have cared for two boys from Angola 15 and 14 when placed. The carers managed the placement well and prepared the boys for independence.
Michael and Almaz [Eritrean]: one child or either gender 10-18 years.
The carers have been fostering for the agency for four years.
Mulegeta and Amina [Eritrean] one child either gender 10-years.
Mulegeta and Amina have been fostering for the agency for three years they have cared for four children during that time. . They currently have a brother and sister in placement female aged 17 and the male 16 years of age they have been living with them for 2 years and are very settled, both young people are Eritrean.
kevan and Rose : two children or more if a large sibling group is able to share either gender.kevan and rose have been fostering for the agency for just over three years. They have had 6 children placed with them and two children on respite. The ages have ranged from 2 to 16 years. The last placement was of a sibling group that they successfully moved on to adoption of four siblings placed together.
Charles and Barbara : one or two children if siblings sharing, either gender 0-14 years
Located in South Bermondsey, Charles and Barbara have recently come back on our vacancy list. Having just moved two children aged 4 months and 7 years back to their birth families. The carers have demonstrated the ability to work well with both professionals and the birth family to ensure the children's needs are fully met. Charles and Barbara are experienced parents of five children aged 9 to 27 years.
Don : two children, males only over ten years of age.
Don is a single male carer who is highly skilled, dedicated and conscientious in his role as a carer. He has demonstrated a high competence in his care of unaccompanied minors and has specialised in this area in the past. He has an excellent ability to put young people at ease, build their confidence and promote independence.
Sally and Paul : one or two children if siblings sharing, either gender 0-12 years
Sally and Paul are extremely experienced foster carers who have been with the agency for eight years. they are an energetic family who have three older children aged 23, 21, and 18. The couple have a very positive view of education and promoting healthy living. Based in Staplehurst in Kent, the couple have a wealth of experience of working with children moving them on for adoption or returning home to their birth families. The carers are valued by the agency as an excellent resource demonstrating good relations with professionals and children a like. Paul is a part time teacher, but when children are placed they benefit from having two carers available to them most of the time.
Linda and Giles: two children if siblings sharing either gender 0-18 years.
Linda and Giles have been fostering for the agency for nearly seven years. To date they have cared for 6 children and a mother and baby placement.. They are experienced parents and have three grown up children. The couple have been very successful carers and moved children on in positive ways to adoption or long term foster care. The couple are highly skilled as carers and valued by the agency greatly.
Mark and Sally : one or two children if siblings sharing, either gender 0-10 years
Sally and Mark have been fostering for the agency for two years. During that time they have cared for a number of children who have been moved on positively. One child in particular had leaning difficulties and could be challenging in her behaviour. Both Mark and Sally managed this very well, using claming techniques and a blend of sensitive care and nurturing. Sally and Mark also recently moved a baby on to adoption.
Pat and John : Two children or three if a sibling group could share.
Pat and John have been foster carers for four years and during that time have cared for six children and a mother and baby. They are experienced carers, working with a variety of children who have come from different backgrounds. They have a good understanding of moving children on as well as working extremely well with the mother and baby who was placed with them. The couple have been really positive in promoting contact, keeping records and liasing with professionals.
