Parent & Child Fostering
Parent & Child Fostering
At Homefinding & Fostering, we recognise what an enormous commitment parent and child fostering is. Our approved carers bring a wealth of experience from related fields and, following careful matching, we offer families a personalised support package so both parent and baby receive the best possible care and guidance. Support is also available to the family, with a named support member of staff linked to them. Our ongoing specialist training helps carers stay up to date with health guidance and safer care practice. The foster carer is expected to provide in-depth daily or weekly reports outlining the level of care the parent demonstrates, while staying focused on the child receiving consistently good care. We also have dedicated contact facilities, allowing parents or extended family not living with the child to see them in a safe, welcoming environment. We have fully equipped kitchen and baby rooms, supported by experienced contact supervisors. Find out more about what parent and child fostering involves.

This type of fostering requires patience, empathy, and good communication skills. You don’t need to have parenting experience yourself, but it can be helpful. As a carer, you’ll need to be comfortable with: • Having both a parent and baby living in your home • Providing advice and gentle guidance • Working closely with social workers and professionals If you can offer stability and encouragement, you could make a lasting impact on two lives at once.
